CHRISTMAS 2023

As South Africans, we celebrate our Christmas holidays on the beach, in the hot summer sun. This was a first for us, experiencing Christmas in the cold shimmering snow just like we see in the fairy tales. In the heart of Austria, the picturesque village of Hallstatt beckons with its timeless charm and snow-dusted rooftops. Here, we wandered through narrow cobblestone streets adorned with twinkling lights, immersing ourselves in the warmth of holiday traditions against the backdrop of serene alpine beauty.

Venturing higher into the majestic peaks of Innsbruck, we found ourselves atop mountaintops blanketed in snow on Christmas Day. Surrounded by panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and crisp mountain air, we celebrated amidst the awe-inspiring grandeur of nature. Continuing our journey through the Italian Dolomites, we were captivated by the rugged beauty of this UNESCO World Heritage site. Against the backdrop of towering peaks and dramatic landscapes, we experienced the magic of the season in a setting that seemed straight out of a winter fairy tale.
